Catalogues raisonnés

In 1997, on Daniel Wildenstein’s invitation, Marc Restellini decided to undertake the catalogue raisonné of Amedeo Modigliani’s works, imposing new scientific criteria never before utilized in the field of research on works of art.
After 16 years of exemplary collaboration, Marc Restellini and the Wildenstein Institute have decided, by a mutual decision, to separate, Marc Restellini wishing to evolve for his own part. The Catalogue Raisonné Amedeo Modigliani is henceforth transferred to the Institut Restellini, which is taking up with new methods, even more modern and scientifically extensive.
It will be enhanced by the drawings, which had been set aside with the Wildenstein Institute. Marc Restellini will thus bring to an end 20 years of research on this artist, about whom he has access to outstanding group of archives, including those of Zborowski, Netter, Guillaume and Dutilleul, as well as a unique deposit of more than 600 scientific analysis for virtually all of the body of works.

The Institut Restellini has decided to offer an electronic publication of the catalogue raisonné, now being elaborated.

Marie-Christine Decroocq,
after 32 years as Research Associate at the Wildenstein Institute (on Odilon Redon, Claude Monet and Amedeo Modigliani's catalogues raisonnés), is now, at the Institut Restellini, in charge of completing the online publication of the Modigliani Catalogue Raisonné..
